Wednesday Wisdom: 7 wise reminders

Some of the greatest treasures are sitting in our nursing homes. Which means we all need to make more visits to interact with these precious people. In hopes that we will add richness to our lives and by God's grace theirs as well. If you can, make it a point to sit and chat with  someone at least 20-30+ years older than yourself. Do it soon and often. Ask questions and listen to the adventurous stories they have to share. ^_^ I really enjoy listening to older wiser people I always learn so so much.

Here are a few Insights I have gained from listening to older people here and there.
1. Say it NOW!
Do not always think you will have tomorrow to say, "Sorry", "I love you", or "I forgive you". Express your heart to your mate, family, and dear friends sincerely. Be mushy if need be. don't hold back. Talk about the things you love with the ones you love. Speak up for what you believe in. Say those things now. While we are on the topic of talking... Have good conversations, small talk sucks. ( Ok. that was from me not the wise ones)

2.Don't let yourself dwell on past bad decisions allowing them to steal joy from the present moments.
Be easy on yourself, forgive yourself, Be kind to yourself. (and others)

3. Choose your mate with EXTREME care.
Don't rush the process, don't commit because your desperate. Check your motives for wanting to marry!

4.Travel while you have the physical ability to do so. Don't put it off till you retire. No travel is not your saving grace BUT it can help you refocus, broaden your perspective and challenge you to try new things.

5. Don't get stuck. Say yes to new opportunities  Embrace new challenges they won't kill you. Life is an adventure so say yes to SOME of them.

6. Your life is but a nano second, a vapor, enjoy it use that second wisely.

The Most Important

7. BE HONEST. Avoid all acts of dishonesty big and small. Not just when you have to but always always be honest. Unconditionally honest. Lack of honesty WILL destroy you and you will pay a heavy Price.

Do you have any wise words to add? Please leave them in the comments we can all learn from each other.

Till next time.

Thank you for sharing these beautiful reminders.

Here are some that I keep in regular rotation :):

-Never let anyone steal your joy.
-Today is the first day of the rest of your life.
-Storms don't last forever.
-If it doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger (Whew! How true!)
